Testimonials continued... I am staying at Casa De La Mariposa and the care here in by far the very best. I went to Andi around 1 and told her I felt like my breast were going to pop open. I'm very swollen. She called Dr. Cohen and he was here within an hour on New Years Day. Good news I"m not bursting, and he gave me an order for pain injections as the pain pills were upsetting my stomach. Andi even called CIMA hospital to see if there was a Gastroenterologist working today as I have gastric ulcers and they seem to be flairing up. The food here is wonderful, whatever I want, they make it but usually the food that Maria makes is so yummy, you wouldn't want anything else. I am not charged for any food at all. Truly I feel like I'm in a 5 star hotel with 24 hr service. My hospital bed has a 4" tempur pedic mattress topper, which is so comfortable, I was forgetting to get up and walk around. I have cable TV with English channels many DVDs and free wireless connection so I can go online whenever I want to. Not to mention free phone service to the states too. I know I couldn't get this care in the states for less than 400.00 a night if that. Here all of this for less than 100 with tax is amazing. Oh yes and the massage therapist she is wonderful, very attentive and so inexpensive. I just wanted to share this with all of you who are considering coming. I came alone and I was afraid, not knowing the language or anyone here, But I connected with Andi via the
phone and from the beginning she has taken care of me like I was family. Happy New Year to all of you.
Staying at Andi's home was wonderful--lots of books to read--lots of movies to watch. Hospital beds sure help with the aches and pains when newly operated on. I called home to talk to husband and friends a lot on her phone--no charge. Food is good--people working there are more than helpful and will help you with your showers and bandages. Pack light as they will do your personal wash for you- no extra charge. Andi will keep and eye out to see that you are getting along alright. Call the Dr if she see something she doesn't like. She came to CR to be operated on her self--so been there, done that. Andi will call transportation to get you to all appointments or just out and about. A safe is in each room to keep money, camera, cell phone, etc in--I would just take what I needed for that day. Andi is from California--that sure helps with the language! |

On Tuesday, I had a full abdominoplasty, breast implants and tons of lipo. My panni weighed 7 lbs and they removed 7 liters with the lipo. Even with the pain, I can say I am absolutely ecstatic and this is the best thing I have ever done for myself! The Drs were wonderful; I felt they listened to all of my questions and if they felt I wanted something off the wall, they took the time to explain it. I came to Andi's retreat yesterday. I cannot say enough good about this place...you are immediately made to feel welcome and anything you could possibly need is here. The home is absolutely gorgeous, the staff is super friendly, the food is excellent, my room is superb; can I say enough???!!! I have not had the opportunity to meet Andi yet, she is travelling, but I am very anxious to meet her. Her staff absolutely adores her! Well, I don't think I can add any more praise, so I guess I will get back to my nap!
I wanted to write and tell everyone about my experiences at “Las Mariposas”. I know how hard it is to choose where to stay. What caused me to believe that I would be under caring circumstances is the C-R Message Board. Andi has taken the time to answer almost every question. She has had many, many surgeries, and can speak from experience on most! But, she seemed to care so much I was sure that this lady was caring, with a big heart, and would make sure that I would be well-cared for. I stayed for fourteen days. They absolutely treated me like a princess- I have never had anyone pay attention to every aspect of my well-being continuously. I have never felt so cared for, and loved. We became a family. The food was excellent-healthy, lots of fruit and vegetables and protein. And the cook would always have huge cakes, fresh cookies, on the kitchen table. You could go and rummage in the refrigerator anytime. Drinks, fruits, etc. But first you had to get past that little bakery at the end of table! I did stay in the biggest master bedroom, with a dining table, and a step in tile shower- no shower curtain needed, and lots of ledges to sit on, along with a bath chair. The other bedrooms are lovely as well. This sounds odd, but what I remember most was laughing and laughing. I had a wonderful time. A private assistant and nurse come everyday, until you both agree that you can take over (the nurse communicates with the doctor). A couple of days before leaving, I was concerned about how some of the procedures would turn out. I broke down and started crying and crying. Andi got on the phone 3 separate times and called Dr. Rosenstock at home, to assure that al my questions were answered. Anyway, I hope this gives you a “feel” for my experience at “Las Mariposas.” I miss my” family" so much there. It was so hard to say good-bye. I loved the hospital beds with 4” of memory foam. So comfy! That was also a big deciding factor for me on choosing a retreat. Nowhere else had that, and I couldn’t imagine recovering in a regular bed, with pillows stuffed everywhere. Andi was obviously setting up an excellent facility, and had really thought about patient comfort. You won’t be disappointed. Best wishes to you with your procedures. |
